British Weights and Measures Association - The British Weights and Measures Association, or BWMA, is an advocacy group that aims to uphold the English or Imperial Measurements against the Metric System. They often use the argument that people can use the metric system if they want, but it should not be forced upon society.
Metric time - Metric time is the measure of time interval using the metric system, which defines the second as the base unit of time, and multiple and submultiple units formed with metric prefixes, such as kiloseconds and milliseconds. It does not define the time of day, as this is defined by various time scales, which may be based upon the metric definition of the second.
Word metric - In group theory, a word metric on a group G is a way to measure distance between any two elements of G . As the name suggests, the word metric is a metric on G , assigning to any two elements g , h of G a distance d(g,h) that measures how efficiently their difference g^{-1} h can be expressed as a word whose letters come from a generating set for the group.
Metric tensor - In mathematics, in Riemannian geometry, the metric tensor is a tensor of rank 2 that is used to measure distance and angle in a space.
